The World Pediatric Project (WPP)

The World Pediatric Project while based originally in Richmond, USA provides assistance to the Eastern Caribbean and Belize and has established its hub of care at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The vision of the World Pediatric Project (WPP) is “every child regardless of geography, social or economic circumstances should have access to pediatric critical care resources”. In recent years the World Pediatric Project (WPP) has grown its referral network throughout the region and now has strong links in ten (10) Islands, Anguilla; Antigua and Barbuda; Barbados, Dominica; Grenada; Guyana, St. Kitts/Nevis; St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Suriname.

Project Summary

The Maria Holder Memorial Trust has partnered with the World Paediatric Project (WPP) to support the work of the WPP to ensure that all children who have treatable conditions are identified and granted access to consultation, surgery, specialist after care and therapy. The World Pediatric Project (WPP) Pediatric critical care spans the following subspecialties of general surgery – Cardiology and Cardiac surgery; Neurosurgery; Urology; Orthopedic surgery and Scoliosis repair; Ophthalmology; physical therapy and Plastic and Reconstructive surgery.
