The Maria Holder Memorial Trust handed over a cheque of US$500,000 to the World Paediatric Project (WPP) at the Ministry of Health. The donation will be used to support the work of the WPP in performing life-saving surgeries on children at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. Children from the OECS come to SVG for medical attention under cooperation agreements. In the past year, The Maria Holder Memorial Trust made other donations for the purpose of strengthening the delivery of healthcare services in this country.
The Maria Holder Memorial Trust provided beds for the recently re-opened and renovated Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre; EKG machines, ultrasound machines and other similar items for rural hospitals and health centres to assist with childbirth; and all the equipment for the refurbished kitchen at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
The total value of The Maria Holder Memorial Trust donations to Health in SVG in the past 12 months (including the WPP donation) is around US$1 million.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment recognizes with gratitude the generosity and service provided by and through The Maria Holder Memorial Trust and the World Pediatric Project.
