Project Summary
The Halo Foundation Inc. was officially started on 7 April 2015 and is a Non-profit Organisation registered under the laws of Antigua and Barbuda; Company No. C 220/14. It is a non-profit, voluntary, non-governmental organisation which offers advocacy and support for the underprivileged and the vulnerable in society. The organization is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors and founded by Her Excellency (Sandra) Lady Williams, wife of the current Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda and Patron of The Foundation, His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams. It maintains a commitment to Grant Aid, University Scholarships and Community Outreach programmes that will effectively enhance the lives of all who access its services.
To address the issue of bullying within schools in Antigua and Barbuda the Halo Foundation sought the expertise assistance of Mr. Shawn Clarke, the only trained and certified Olweus Bullying Prevention Officer in the Caribbean to implement the Olweus Bullying Prevention Programme in three primary and three secondary schools on the island. The Maria Holder Memorial Trust has provided funding over a two period for the implantation of this programme within these schools.
