Youth in Agriculture

The Youth in Agriculture Programme was the concept of Undene Whittaker, The Advisor on Poverty Eradication and the Millennium Development Goals.  The participants in the programme are engaged in agriculture, both theory and practical.  These sessions are conducted by Extension Officers from the Ministry of Agriculture.

Project Summary

This programme provides agricultural training to the Youth in the programme who are mostly unemployed or at risk Youth who benefit not only from the Agricultural aspect but also from the core values systems introduced as part of the programme.  Participants are educated in both crop and animal husbandry as components of the programme.
