Spectrum Possibilities

Spectrum Possibilities is a Charity founded by Deborah Thompson-Smith and Larry Smith a couple with a child diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum.  In an effort to understand the disorder the couple started by researching the condition which revealed the following.  “Autism is not necessarily an incurable disorder; this according to doctors who specialise in biomedical treatments, the functioning and abilities of autistic people can be improved once the medical disorders that underlie their behaviours are treated”.

Project Summary

The Trust donated funds to Sponsor the Autism One/Spectrum Possibilities Autism Conference in Barbados held in November 2011, the first of its kind for the region.  The aim of this conference was to spread awareness through the conference which would introduce several new therapeutic and treatment options for families with a loved one on the Spectrum by bringing together some of the leading clinicians and therapists.
