Project Summary
The National Council on Substance Abuse (NCSA), under the aegis of the Ministry of Home Affairs, is the government agency charged to devise, undertake and promote programmes and projects aimed at the prevention, elimination or control of illegal drugs and substance abuse; authorise, conduct and facilitate research or surveys on substance abuse and undertake or facilitate programmes for the treatment and rehabilitation of persons affected by substance abuse.
The Drug Treatment Court started operation in 2015. This project, implemented through the NCSA, will increase the capacity of the Drug Treatment Court by providing additional counselling and opportunity for skills development by offering counselling for clients and immediate family members; life skills training; skills development and enhancement; employment Counselling and mentoring.
