The Child Care Board is a Statutory Body established by the Child Care Board Act of 1969 and amended in 1981. The Board’s functions are varied but are all centered on the protection, safety and wellbeing of the children of Barbados. The Fostering programme was introduced for persons willing to care for children in their home as part of the family either on a long-term or short-term basis.
Project Summary
With the Donation from the Trust the Child Care Board can sensitize and encourage families to become foster parents. As more persons become aware of the Fostering programme, it is hoped that the Child Care Board will also notice an increase in the number of families available to the programme with the willingness to foster both boys and girls over five years old. The Project provides training workshops and information regarding fostering.
