11 Play Parks Project

The Maria Holder Memorial Trust in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Barbados is donating one Play Park to each Parish. These Parks will either be a refurbishment of an existing Play Park or a new construct, the aim however, is to ensure that each Parish has a Play area for children to play, learn and grow.

One of the main strategic aims of The Maria Holder Memorial Trust is to provide access to Education mainly through the construction of Nursery Schools. Without play however, development is incomplete as play forms an integral part of development for all youth.

Through play children develop social and cognitive skills, interpersonal skills and gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences.

Key ways that young children learn include playing, being with other people, being active, exploring and new experiences, talking to themselves, communication with others, meeting physical and mental challenges, being shown how to do new things, practicing and repeating skills and having fun. The relationship between play and learning are invaluable.

Each Play Park will feature swing sets, see saws, slides, tunnels and a Play House.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
