The Holy Trinity Primary School

Project Summary

The Holy Trinity Primary School was located in Codrington, Barbuda. It was the only primary school on the island serving 229 students (100 girls and 129 boys). They catered to students from Kindergarten (3-5) and Grade 6 (5-11) years or age. The school conducted a reading programme – the Reading Lagoon which catered for half of the student population. There were two reading rooms and two teachers (a reading specialist and a reading teacher). It should be noted that this school was destroyed during the passage of hurricanes Maria and Irma in September 2017.

However, The Maria Holder Memorial Trust provided funding through the Board of Education of Antigua and Barbuda to provide essential reading materials and learning tools while the children were accommodated at schools throughout Antigua and Barbuda.
